Are you a Psychiatric Nurse looking for a way to use your skills and education in a less bureaucratic and clinical environment? Would you like to be a part of a new initiative to address the needs of the most vulnerable women in our society?
Join Vernon Native Housing Society in pioneering a ground-breaking 10 bed Complex Care home designed exclusively for Indigenous women. We're seeking a dedicated Registered Psychiatric Nurse to help shape and deliver a transformative approach to Indigenous-focused nursing care. This unique opportunity combines harm reduction principles with cultural safety and trauma-informed practices, offering you the chance to make a meaningful impact in this beautiful, affordable North Okanagan community.
As our MHSU nurse, you'll be an integral member of our multidisciplinary Complex Care Housing team, providing comprehensive mental health and substance use support to up to 10 residents with complex needs. This role offers the perfect blend of autonomous practice and team-based care, allowing you to use your advanced nursing skills while working alongside other healthcare professionals and community partners.
We're looking for a passionate mental health professional who brings at least two years of MHSU experience, a Master’s degree and current BCCNM registration or eligibility to register if coming from another province. Indigenous candidates are especially encouraged to apply, as this position offers an exceptional opportunity to lead innovative healthcare delivery within the Indigenous community. Join us in creating a nurturing, culturally safe environment where Indigenous women can heal and thrive.
